CHAPTER 01
Looking for clearer guidance and a fresh start.
Faridah felt the previous one-to-one arrangement did not provide the guidance Amelia needed to understand maths concepts. They decided to try a different approach.
Online lessons removed travel time and transport costs. Amelia could learn through Zoom without commuting to lessons.
CHAPTER 02
Clear explanations, worksheets and parent communication.
Amelia liked the worksheets and explanations. She said Haris could explain questions she had found difficult to understand with her previous tutor.
Amelia began attempting questions instead of leaving them blank, trying to recall the relevant formulas and methods.
Faridah appreciated being kept involved. Explanations and updates helped her understand how Amelia was doing and where she needed more practice.
CHAPTER 03
Effort, confidence and a better relationship with maths.
Faridah noticed Amelia was more positive about lessons. Haris also observed that she tried her best with the homework and practised what she could understand.
She suggested looking at Haris’s teaching videos to see his approach, and considering a change when a child needs clearer support.
Amelia asked for a fun fact at the start of class.
